Join this 7 day cycling tour on the Atlantic Coast of France and enjoy a journey through medieval towns with beautifully preserved structures dating back from the 12th – 18th centuries. With our experienced guides on hand, we learn about the fascinating history as we cycle through quiet farmlands, riverside villages and rolling countryside. Graded as easy (2/10 difficulty), this fabulous and diverse tour is suitable for all levels of cycling experience.
Travel in classic French style as we stay in lovely chateau accommodations, soak up the sun in charming terraced cafes and cobbled streets and sample some of the region’s best gourmet offerings. Being largely coastal, think fresh fish and produce, local lamb and beef, goats cheese and of course the Cognac brandy the region is famous for.
Cycling along the Charente River, experience the quaint, old port city of La Rochelle (know as the White City) on the south west coast of France and as well as historic Rochefort. The region has a significant naval history and it is on display throughout. Taste the famous local brandy and local wine, including a specialty called Pineau des Charentes (a fortified sweet wine) on this fully guided, small group tour. An experience you won’t want to miss!

Bikes
Quality hybrid-style bikes are included in your cycling tour in France. These are ordinarily Trek FX-style bikes complete with water bottle cages, adjustable seat heights and a front saddle bag to carry incidentals.
Female-specific saddles are available on all French cycling tours.
Ebikes
Ebikes are available upon request on all France cycling tours. The actual model and make of the ebike will vary depending on location and the request for how many.
Step-through ebikes are available but please request this specifically if required.
What is the group size for guided tours in France?
Group tours are great for making new friends and sharing an amazing experience. Tours in France have a maximum of 16 guests, a good size to ensure a level of personal service. Minimum 6 guests.
What if I want a break from riding?
We encourage all guests to join in and cycle with the group however a minibus travelling along with the group that is available for anyone at any time during the day. The bus will take you for as long or as little as you wish.
What is the weather like?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the weather however, tour dates are selected to be optimal for cycling - not too hot and not too cold! Considering the region and the temperate climate, it would be unlucky to experience more than one wet day.
