Istria, on the Italian border with Croatia, is often referred to as the “green heart of Europe”.  It is Croatia’s most famous peninsula and travel destination and its popularity is for good reason. Experience the highlights of Istria on this incredible cycle and sail itinerary.  Explore the beautiful coastlines, the fruitful hinterlands and the fascinating harbour towns such as Pula, Poreč and Rovinj.

The Istrian Peninsula holds much to love. Medieval hilltop villages, antique monuments, picturesque vineyards, and delicious cuisine. Exploring on the daily guided bike tours, you will learn all about the region from the knowledgeable and friendly guides.

Food on board your ship is a highlight. Local specialities are prepared in the onboard kitchen by qualified cooks, and the onboard bar is always popular.  Local wines from the Istrian region are served.

Enjoy the hassle-free life on board, with daily rides of various lengths, visiting new villages and places of interest.  Best of all, you only need to pack and unpack once. You can even do your washing on board (and they dry very quickly!)

Enjoy a refreshing swim directly from the boat in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Once the boat has tied off in the next harbour for the night, picturesque towns await to be seen. A holiday like no other!

When is the best time of year to visit Croatia?

Croatia tour dates are selected based on the best time to visit the beautiful islands. The coast has a Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine year round. Winter is the wet season and summer is the peak season.

What if I want a break from riding?

We encourage all guests to join in and cycle with the group however, on any given day you can always elect to stay aboard the ship, read a book on the sun deck, explore the village the ship is docked in, or get some shopping in at the unique local markets.

Is there pre and post tour accommodation available?

Yes.

We recommend extending your stay on the island of Krk, which is one of the most diverse islands in the Mediterranean. Vineyards, olive groves, extensive forests and ancient stone walls characterize the landscape. There are many beautiful beaches and in Rudine you can visit an interesting stalactite cave. The town of Baška with its surrounding lunar landscape, is also worth a visit.

We would be happy to arrange additional nights in our partner hotel on Krk before or after your Istrian Cycling tour. Prices vary depending on the season.
