Cycle Salute North East Victoria – A cycling festival

The Cycle Salute is an exciting festival of cycling, and all things food, wine and fun, and is planned to run across north east Victoria in October through to early November this year .  Victoria’s high country region will host 50+ cycle based events over 3 weeks from 18th October to 5th November.A full program is to be released on the 1st September but Tour de Vines can announce we will be running 3 cycling tours exclusive to the Cycle Salute festival.

Cycling events will be held across Beechworth to Mansfield, across Milawa and the King Valley, from Bright and the Alpine Valleys to Dinner Plain and Falls Creek. Events will cater to families, kids, serious road warriors, mountain bikers and food and wine lovers with basket on bike, and vino in hand.  There will be support vehicle and transfer services especially for the festival, which also marks the start of the 7 Peaks Alpine Ascent Challenge (18 Oct – 31 March).

The High Country is home to over 250 bike friendly trails, including the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, the Great Victoria Rail Trail from Mansfield, and the High Country Rail Trail near Tallangatta.

Event Title:   Tour de Gourmet in a Day

Venue: Cycle from Beechworth to Milawa, bus return

A guided pedal to produce delight, riding the Murray to Mountains rail trail downhill from Beechworth to Milawa. You’ll cruise from wineries to olive shops and cheese factories. Learn, laugh and feast in the gorgeous Milawa region, and relax knowing you have a shuttle service back up the hill to Beechworth. A gourmet lunch is included as is a guide and transport back to Beechworth.

Dates: Sat 19th Oct,  Sat 26th Oct (now booked out) & Sat 2nd Nov (limited places)

Time: Start 9.30am from Beechworth, end back in Beechworth 4pm
