Cycling Hawkes Bay Dates & Prices

Being a self-guided tour, you can enjoy this cycling tour in Hawkes Bay on any day or date that suits you, subject only to accommodation availability.  

Start dates may be limited by venue openings and availability. Check the calendar below, which also lists prices for your chosen date/s. 

Please note there is a $A100 per person supplement added post booking for tours that run over any New Zealand public holidays and long weekends.

Hawkes Bay Bike Hire

You can BYO your bike for no cost or choose to hire from our quality fleet as follows:

• Regular hybrid bike: $A200 per tour
• Quality Ebike $A300 per tour

All bikes include small pannier bags for incidentals, water bottle holders (water bottles also included in your booking). Step-throughs are available but must be requested in advance.

Hawkes Bay Accommodation Upgrade

There is the option on this cycling tour in Hawkes Bay to upgrade 2 of your 4 nights' accommodation, being the 2nd & 3rd nights, to luxury.  This starts at $A750 per room additional on top of your tour price and is subject to dates, availability and group size (very limited capacity at these luxury properties).

Self Guided Cycling

Self-guided cycling tours do require participants to be adaptable and able to solve issues whilst on tour. On-call support is included in your tour, but it is expected that you will know how to repair punctures and make minor adjustments to gears, handlebars and seats if required, and if bringing your own bike, then this is expected. For anything more serious, we will be able to assist with a call to our 1300 665 330 number at any time during your trip. You should be able to read a map and follow directions, either on a device or a printed map (supplied) and have a good sense of direction. Getting a little bit lost or having to ask locals for directions is all part of choosing to travel on a self-guided basis. The maps and directions provided to you are updated regularly and tailored to your specific trip (hotels, restaurants are noted and marked). If this is something that makes you nervous or uncertain, or if you know for sure that you can’t fix a puncture or aren’t confident reading a map, then we do recommend our extensive range of small group fully guided tours where all the stress of navigation, bike maintenance and logistics is all done for you. However, if comfortable with this, then the freedom of a self-guided cycling trip is wonderful, and once confident, can be the preferred choice across our range of cycling tours.

Where is the accommodation?

You have 2 options on this tour in terms of standard of accommodation:

1. 5-star standard throughout, which would include an ensuite hotel (some with pools), or
2. Upgrade to premium style 4/4.5 star or equivalent including boutique B&B (small groups only).

For both levels in Napier, we use the Art Deco Hotel as our preferred property.

Exact venue selection does very much depend on your dates and group size.

Can we book pre and post tour accommodation as well?

Yes, additional nights accommodation can be included in your tour package.
