Cycling Tours in Provence
If you want to cycle in France, Tour de Vines may have the answer, today announcing the addition of 2 new cycling tours in Provence, France. This is in addition to the existing and very popular Tour de Bordeaux and Tour de Loire Valley, as well as the current Tour de Provence cycle tours.
The 2 new cycling tours in Provence, referred to as Tour de Provence Roman, and Tour de Provence Luberon cover new areas of this ‘superbe’ region of France and cater for varying sub interests, whilst both providing incredible cycling. Held over 7 days/6 nights with amazing accommodation, bikes, guide, support vehicle on hand, arrival/departure transfers and most meals (some outstanding food to be had on both tours), tour participants will experience the best of Provence.
The Tour de Provence Roman is a must do for Roman history buffs, and includes visits to the major Roman sites dotted across Provence, such as the amazing Pont du Gard near Avignon. An easy to moderate level cycling tour averaging 50km per day on relatively easy terrain, participants will also visit other famous sites including the Roman Theatre at Orange. It’s not all history however, with the tour itinerary including a wine tasting at the incredible Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe cellar door, a visit to Arles and St-Remy made famous by Van Gogh, and watching flamingos in Camargue.
The Tour de Provence Luberon is more for those seeking the ‘A Year in Provence’ experience. Quaint charming villages, local markets, food and wine tastings are all a key part of this cycling tour. The cycling is a touch more challenging, with a few extra hills so would suit those with a little cycling in their legs. Importantly, there are optional cycle challenges including the famous Mt Ventoux, but we stress this is optional, you can of course choose the more leisurely route to the village Bedoin and take an afternoon wine in the sun!!
A wide range of departure dates are available starting in May with regular tours through til October. Find out more about each of Tour de Vines cycling tours in Provence here:
