Meals

Meals are included as per the itinerary, and we select the venues for cuisine and ambience, and favour those with a strong regional & local flavor where possible. Please note being in regional Queensland, options are very limited in some places but we aim for the best available.

We are happy to arrange to cater for specific dietary requirements and allergies etc. where notified in advance.

Bikes and Equipment

Specific mountain bikes (MTBS) and E-MTBS are used on this tour and may be hardtail or dual suspension MTBS depending on size and type. Helmets are available but we always recommend BYO if you can, and sizing and fit are quite personal; Electric assist mountain bikes are also available.

Guides and Backup

You have the services of a local guide cycling with you. A support bus carries all luggage and will always be available for anyone at any point during the day. If, for instance, you want to take a day off the bike, or if a particular day seems a little hard, the bus will take you for as long or as little as you wish it. The guides are enthusiastic experts on the local area and will be able to sort out any problems or special requests that you might have.

Are bikes included?

You have the option to BYO your bike for this tour and we will look after it for you during the tour. We recommend a mountain bike or standard bike as there are dirt and short bumpy sections on this tour (certainly nothing technical, but thick tyres and some suspension will make a big difference to comfort levels and puncture prevention).

Quality bikes (Trek hardtail MTB style) are included or Trek E-MTB available.

  • Trek MTB (included)
  • Trek E-MTB $400

How hard is the riding & what are the distances?

This tour is graded as easy to medium. There are no major ascents or hills to climb, and distances are moderate, averaging around 45 km over the course of a full day.

It should be noted that the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is a more uneven surface than many regular rail trails, so expect bumpy sections, mixed with flat and even parts and some very short paved sections.

There are also a number of culverts or river crossings, which are short but may be seen as steep down and ups for some riders.  They are easily walked and there is no hurry.

There is no hurry, and our tours are run at a very relaxed pace, with lots of photo stops, drink stops, food stops and just resting stops!

The only real challenge is the consecutive days of riding, which for non or semi-regular riders may create some "sensitivity" from sitting on a bike seat so we do recommend some riding before arriving.

The Rail Trails are a mix of paved surfaces and dirt tracks, so you should be OK riding on surfaces other than road or paths

How big are the groups?

The group size is strictly limited to 10 riders on this tour. With limited dates available, these trips will fill up quickly. Call us on 1300 665 330 to find out more about this unique and memorable Queensland Cycling Tour.

What time we would get to Brisbane at the end of the tour?

The final day involves a transfer from Noosa to Brisbane.

We leave Noosa at a relaxed time of around 11 am, after a morning swim, breakfast (included) and check out.

Arrival time into Brisbane will ordinarily be around 2 pm so flights and/or onward journeys can be arranged with that in mind.

We can do limited airport transfers on this day as required.
