Additional Details

Small Group Cycling Tour

Our cycling group is limited to 16 riders which makes for a more intimate, personal cycling tour and gives you the ability to get up close and personal with the people and the places we visit.   The average group size is around 10 riders, and you have a support crew of 2 guides and a driver (sometimes 2 drivers depending on group size.

Tour Guides & Drivers

Our tour guides & driver support team are the best!  We frequently receiving amazing feedback.  They are locals and it's important we use local teams as part of our commitment to giving back to the areas we travel in.  Guides are trained and certified, have very good English and know the area and history very well.

It is worth noting, due to tourism regulations, we are required to change your guide and driver team when crossing into Cambodia.  This can be a little unsettling if you have made a connection with the team, but it is a positive in that it ensures we use local teams and both the Vietnam and Cambodia guides and drivers are equally amazing.

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers are included and are very handy in these busy Asian cities.  Transfers are included between the hours of 6am and 9pm, and an extra supplement will apply for transfers outside those times.

Please note last minute and/or late advice of arrival details may mean pick up transfers are not available.  Ensure you provide Tour de Vines your arrival details as early as possible to ensure transfers can be provided.

Trusted Operator

Tour de Vines has been running tours in since 2002 and has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 and is now a Hall of Fame inductee. You can be assured we are a quality operator and want nothing more than for you to have an amazing travel experience.

Are e-bikes available?

Yes, new quality e-bikes are available on this tour.

Due to the varied terrain, mountain bikes are used on this tour.  E-Bikes are also quality mountain bike style.

Standard pedals are fitted to all bikes but clip in pedals can be fitted on request.

Is the cycling hard?

The good news is that Vietnam and Cambodia are pretty much flat, so there are no hills of note throughout this tour.

Whilst this tour is run in the cooler months, Vietnam and Cambodia are in a warm part of the world.  The heat can be factor, so if in any doubt about cycling abilities we recommend an e-bike.

There is a support vehicle throughout with the option to take a break from riding at anytime.

How many riders in the group?

We prefer smaller sized groups, so that we can access venues and experiences that large groups probably couldn't get to.  It also means you get to know your (local) guides a lot better and your fellow riders.

We limit the group size on this tour to 16, plus 2 tour guides and there is a support crew as well (who you will get to know and who are often the life of the tour!).

What hotels are used on this Vietnam cycling tour?

We know you will enjoy the quality of the properties chosen for this cycling trip in Vietnam.  After a day of cycling, there is nothing better than a welcome drink, cool room and a refreshing pool dip.

Do I need a VISA?

On this tour you will be entering both Vietnam and Cambodia, so depending on your passport you should research VISA status for both countries.

For Cambodia, the tour enters via a land crossing at the Vietnam border, and for Australian passport holders (and many others) a VISA can be obtained at the border (please note VISAs for Cambodia obtained in advance may not be valid at this land crossing so you may be asked to pay again so we recommend only obtaining a Vietnam VISA prior to arrival).

Please note we are not able to verify or confirm VISA status for your individual circumstances and we strongly recommend contacting the embassy and/or researching online to ensure you have the correct entry VISAs.

How much time will we spend in the vehicle?

Very little — this tour is designed so that almost all travel is done on the bike. There are a few short transfers of around 30–60 minutes, plus one longer transfer of about 2.5–3 hours on the final day into Phnom Penh. Across the full week, guests spend around 6–7 hours total in the vehicle, with the rest of the time out riding and exploring.
