New Art on the Great Victorian Rail Trail
Explore a journey of artistic discovery through beautiful Taungurung Country whilst cycling the Great Victorian Rail Trail.
Taking inspiration from the theme of ‘connections’, eight local artists have created original pieces based on connection to country, connection to local environment, connection to history and connection to community.
The artworks are situated along the length of the 134km Great Victorian Rail Trail, spanning the three Shires of Mitchell, Murrindindi and Mansfield, in Victoria's High Country.
There are 7 new major art creations in total, complimenting existing installations including local indigenous tree carvings and wildlife (frogs) pieces. These are spread along the rail trail from Mansfiled to Tallarook, creating a wonderful outdoor gallery. So no matter where you are cycling you will most likely see some of these new art pieces.
A wonderful new addition which will further boost the growing popularity of the Great Victorian Rail Trail, which is already proving to be such an asset for the region.
