The Cycling:
We start with a wonderful first day riding the easy and coastal Bass Coast Trail after transferring from Melbourne. On day 2, we commence our ride from the new start of the Great Southern Rail Trail in Nyora, and over 3 days will arrive to the newly extended end section at Yarram, so you will ride the full length of this beautiful cycling trail.
Total Distance: Possible total 154kms over 4 days of cycling.
Track: Compacted gravel surface, fine gravel suitable for most bikes and riders and a joy to ride!

A brief tour itinerary is as follows:

Day 1 – Depart Melbourne, ride the Bass Coast Trail 23kms then transfer to Loch

Day 2 – Ride Nyora to Meeniyan 52kms

Day 3 – Meeniyan to Port Welshpool 51kms

Day 4 – Ride Port Welshpool to Yarram 28kms then transfer to Melbourne

This cycling tour will run on select dates and will have strictly limited availability (small groups limited to 10 riders plus your support team).

The cycling tour start and end point will be Melbourne (to be advised) and whilst it is possible to join the tour at the start point of Loch, as you can see from the map below, return transfers to Melbourne do not pass back through Loch.

Your tour includes quality accommodation (3 nights with one property including a pool!), most meals and a special dining event in Meeniyan.

Tour de Vines’ guides are enthusiastic experts on the local area and will be able to sort out any problems or special requests that you might have. The support bus will never be far away, so support will be available if needed and luggage and other logistics will all be done for you, including transport to and from Melbourne.

Please be aware that this itinerary may be subject to change at the discretion of the guide, should circumstances require. Last-minute changes to the route, timing and locations may be necessary due to factors beyond our control. Their number one priority is your safety, and of course, your enjoyment. Your guide may be required to make decisions in the interests of the group, and has the final say on all movements and logistics for the tour.

There are 2 x evening meals included, which will be restaurant or bistro style and 2 lunches, which will be café or other similar venue (winery/distillery) standard. Please note hospitality venues regularly change hours, close or have other issues which may change meal plans, but we would always include a replacement meal to ensure the promised inclusions are met.

Bikes and Equipment

You have the option to BYO your bike and we will carry these for you on our bike trailer. Or you can hire from our fleet or hybrid or ebikes.
