Are bikes included?

You are welcome to BYO (bring your own) bike on this tour. Regular hybrid-style bikes or hardtail mountain bikes are ideal, as there are some sections on hard-packed gravel.

Many guests hire from our quality fleet, including hybrid style bikes complete with 27 gears, rear rack and bag, water bottle holders and soft saddles. These can be hired online when making your booking or contact us.

E-bikes are also available and make for a great fun tour if you are in any doubt about your cycling abilities or don't want the stress of feeling like you need to keep up with others. Our fleet includes a range of step-through or regular style ebikes, but please ensure you request any specific requirements you have in advance.

Can we add extra nights pre and post tour in Adelaide?

Yes, we are able to book pre and post-tour accommodation so you can stay in the same room and enjoy Adelaide without having to move.

This can be added to your booking online or contact us for more on 1300 665 330.

Is there much riding on the roads on this cycling tour?

The SA Vineyards cycling tour is set up to specifically take advantage of the great cycling trails in South Australia, which include the off-road Barossa Trail, Riesling Rail Trail in the Clare Valley, the Amy Gillett Trail in the Adelaide Hills and the Shiraz Trail in McLaren Vale. We ride these trails from end to end whilst avoiding roads as much as we can. There are some short sections where we are required to be on slow-moving traffic roads, such as moving through Tanunda in the Barossa. These are short sections of urban traffic. Your guide will prepare the group for these and ensure you ride safely. Where groups are confident and the guides deem it safe, there can be additional riding off the trails, but this is the exception rather than the rule and is entirely up to the guide whose number 1 priority is our guests' safety.
